I led the rebranding of a customer-facing web and mobile app used for designing elevators. The app is a complex tool with multiple features, including a broad range of design options, image and PDF generation, and an interactive 3D display that visualizes the final product.
My Role and Responsibilities:
In this project, I was responsible for revamping the app’s visual design, user experience (UX), and user flow across both web and mobile platforms. This involved not only a facelift of the interface but also a rethinking of how users interact with the app to make it more intuitive and efficient.
Design Process and Collaboration:
Research and Analysis: I began by analyzing the existing user experience and identifying pain points that could impact ease of use and productivity. This analysis informed my redesign approach and highlighted areas where the user flow could be streamlined.
Collaborative Development: I worked closely with 3D and 2D developers, QA testers, and project managers to ensure that each design adjustment aligned with technical capabilities and user expectations. Regular collaboration allowed us to address technical constraints early and ensure a cohesive user experience across disciplines.
Updating the Design System and Introducing New Interactions: To keep the app’s look and feel consistent, I updated the app-specific design system, refining components, colors, and typography. I also introduced new interactions to enhance usability and make it easier for users to complete complex actions, helping improve overall efficiency.
Refinement and Testing: I ran usability tests throughout the redesign process, measuring improvements in task completion times and gathering feedback. This iterative testing helped ensure that each change made a measurable impact on user experience and efficiency.
Results:
The final design achieved a smoother, more intuitive user experience, as demonstrated by a reduction in the time taken to complete key actions within the app. These improvements have been instrumental in enhancing customer satisfaction and usability.
